Can I collect data in small spaces or outside the lab?
Yes, Rokoko’s mocap system is fully portable and works in offices, hallways, phone booths, mock workcells, field demos or wherever you want to use it.
Can I stream both full-body and hand data for dexterous manipulation?
Yes, pair Rokoko’s Smartsuit Pro II with Smartgloves to stream reach–grasp–place motions for real-world manipulation tasks. All data from the hardware tools can be streamed in realtime at high frame rates through a variety of plugins, including ROS (Robot Operating System), Maya, MoBu, Siemens Jack, and a custom option that allows users to build their own plugins.
Why choose Rokoko over optical systems for research?
Portability + stability of data + budget: You can outfit more operators and collect more diverse motion data, trading off some peak fidelity and repeatability. Rokoko’s tools can be set up in minutes at any location. There’s no need to line of sight of cameras like with optical systems, which means that there are no issues with occlusion or sudden drops in data. The suits and gloves create a reliable and stable stream of data. Lastly, the many cameras and usage/subscription costs of optical systems, along with the vast amount of time needed for setup is a big hurdle.
Rokoko Smartsuit also comes in multiple different sizes from S-XL, making it easier for people to find the right fit. Customers can add additional textiles (without electronics) to their order to have a range of sizes to pick from. It takes less than 5 minutes to swap electronics from one suit to another. What formats can I export?
BVH, FBX, and CSV are supported for downstream robotics/ML pipelines.
Does Rokoko support Linux or provide Linux SDK?
Official Linux SDK support is limited; most researchers integrate via standard file/stream bridges in their Linux workflows.
